Our approach is 2-fold:

#1 - Address any internal issues that are contributing to pain. This would include addressing the hormonal system, immune system, and any other aspects of your physiology that can perpetuate pain. We typically use some very specific supplements that last about 2-4 months.

#2 - Perform occipital neuralgia specific therapies in the office over an 8-12 week time frame. These non-drug neuromodulation therapies are designed to block pain, and in time - rewire your occipital neuralgia circuitry to prevent it from coming back. When done properly, the results are long lasting with only occasional maintenance required. The treatments we perform target multiple nerve systems that can effectively stimulate healing, all without drugs or surgery.

Excruciating episodes of stabbing pain, jolting strikes of electricity through the neck and head, debilitating nerve pain that just never seems to go away. That burning feeling throughout the scalp and neck that just won't let up... There seems to be no end to the agony, the medications hardly help, and the side effects are almost as bad as the pain!

If any of these symptoms sound familiar, there's hope!

Most patients can feel significant improvement right away with our approach!

Occipital Neuralgia Specialist in Harrisburg and York PA

Many of our occipital neuralgia patients have other abnormalities in their system which can contribute to the ongoing attacks. Inflammation, viral infections, hormonal disturbances and more can keep your body stuck in a painful state, and need to be addressed properly.

Most, if not all, of our patients will undergo investigative blood work to potentially uncover factors involved in their pain. This especially true for trigeminal neuralgia, and situations where a hormonal or infectious process is suspected. The results of your blood work will help shed light on what is happening inside, and what can be done to make it better.
